Το ρωσικό υπουργείο Άμυνας ανακοίνωσε σήμερα ότι προσπαθεί να διαπιστώσει αν σε ρωσική αεροπορική επιδρομή κοντά στην πόλη Ράκα της Συρίας σκοτώθηκε ο αρχηγός της οργάνωσης Ισλαμικό Κράτος Αμπού Μπακρ αλ-Μπαγκντάντι, μεταδίδουν τα ρωσικά μέσα ενημέρωσης.

Στόχος της αεροπορικής αυτής επιδρομής ήταν μια συνάντηση στελεχών του ΙΚ η οποία πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 28 Μαΐου, αναφέρουν τα ειδησεογραφικά πρακτορεία, επικαλούμενα την ανακοίνωση του υπουργείου.

"Σύμφωνα με την πληροφορία που τώρα ελέγχεται μέσω διαφόρων διαύλων, ο ηγέτης του ΙΚ Αμπού Μπακρ αλ-Μπαγκντάντι που σκοτώθηκε στην αεροπορική επιδρομή, ήταν επίσης παρών στη συνάντηση", μετέδωσε το RIA επικαλούμενο το υπουργείο Άμυνας.
