Η βρετανίδα συγγραφέας αστυνομικών μυθιστορημάτων Ρουθ Ρέντελ πέθανε σε ηλικία 85 ετών, ανακοίνωσε σήμερα ο εκδότης της.

Η συγγραφέας, η οποία είχε στο ενεργητικό της περισσότερους από 60 τίτλους και έργα της έχουν μεταφραστεί σε περισσότερες από 20 γλώσσες, είχε υποστεί σοβαρό εγκεφαλικό επεισόδιο τον Ιανουάριο.

Το πρώτο μυθιστόρημα της Ρέντελ εκδόθηκε το 1964 και έκτοτε έγραψε πολλά βραβευμένα βιβλία, όπως τα «Σαν δαίμονας μπροστά μου», «Πικρό Τέλος», «Πορτομπέλο». Πέρυσι εξέδωσε το "The Girl Next Door" (Το κορίτσι της διπλανής πόρτας).
