Τέσσερα χωριά εκκενώθηκαν προληπτικά , λόγω μεγάλης πυρκαγιάς στην περιοχή Ευρύχου, στους πρόποδες του Τροόδους, η οποία καίει πευκοδάσος και απειλεί κατοικημένη περιοχή. Τα χωριά που εκκενώθηκαν, είναι Κούρδαλι , Σπήλια, Αγία Ειρήνη και Καννάβια.

Για την κατάσβεση της πυρκαγιάς έχει ζητηθεί βοήθεια και από την Ελλάδα, ενώ ήδη συνδράμουν και τρία ισραηλινά αεροσκάφη.

Έχουν ανταποκριθεί μέχρι στιγμής 10 πυροσβεστικά οχήματα από τους Σταθμούς Λευκωσίας και μεγάλη δύναμη του Τμήματος Δασών.
