Ποινικές ευθύνες για το θάνατο κοριτσιού από τη Συρία την περασμένη εβδομάδα, στο κέντρο προσφύγων και μεταναστών της ΣΟΦΤΕΞ, στα Διαβατά Θεσσαλονίκης, αναζητά η εισαγγελέας Πλημμελειοδικών, Αργυρή Βαλούση, με προκαταρκτική έρευνα που παρήγγειλε.

Κατά πληροφορίες, στην παραγγελία της προς το αστυνομικό τμήμα της περιοχής ευθύνης, η εισαγγελέας ζητά να διερευνηθεί εάν στοιχειοθετείται το αδίκημα της ανθρωποκτονίας από αμέλεια δια παραλείψεως.

Η παρέμβαση έγινε κατόπιν δημοσιευμάτων στον Τύπο. Πρόσφυγες κατήγγειλαν την έλλειψη γιατρού στο συγκεκριμένο κέντρο, όπως επίσης, την καθυστερημένη άφιξη ασθενοφόρου στο σημείο.

Η άτυχη 29χρονη φαίνεται ότι υπέστη καρδιακή ανακοπή κατά τη διάρκεια επιληπτικής κρίσης. Δύο ασθενοφόρα του ΕΚΑΒ έφτασαν επί τόπου γα την παροχή των πρώτων βοηθειών, αλλά ο γιατρός που την εξέτασε διαπίστωσε απλά το θάνατό της.

Μόλις έγινε γνωστό το περιστατικό, πρόσφυγες και μετανάστες από δομές φιλοξενίας της δυτικής Θεσσαλονίκης ξεχύθηκαν στους δρόμους της πόλης πραγματοποιώντας πορεία διαμαρτυρίας.
