Ήρθε επιτέλους η ώρα για την καλύτερη περίοδο του χρόνου, την περίοδο των βραβείων της αμερικάνικης τηλεόρασης και του κινηματογράφου. Ή αλλιώς, let the award season begin!
Η αρχή έγινε σήμερα το πρωί (10/12) με την ανακοίνωση των υποψηφιοτήτων στις 25 κατηγορίες για τις φετινές Χρυσές Σφαίρες από τους Angela Bassett, Chloe Grace Moretz, America Ferrera και Dennis Quaid. Η τελετή θα πραγματοποιηθεί στις 10 Ιανουαρίου με οικοδεσπότη τον πάντα απολαυστικό Ricky Gervais, ο οποίος επιστρέφει για τέταρτη φορά στο εν λόγω πόστο (έχει παρουσιάσει τις τελετές του 2009, του 2010 και του 2011).
Αρκετοί από τους περσινούς νικητές των Σφαιρών είναι ξανά υποψήφιοι, Eddie Redmayne, Steve Carell, Helen Mirren και Emily Blunt μεταξύ άλλων, ενώ η ταινία «Carol» του Todd Haynes με την Cate Blanchett και την Rooney Mara στους ρόλους δύο γυναικών που ζουν έναν παράνομο έρωτα κατά τη διάρκεια του '50, είναι το αδιαμφισβήτητο φαβορί με 5 υποψηφιότητες.
Οι Χρυσές Σφαίρες είναι η πιο λαμπερή εκδήλωση βραβείων πριν από τα Όσκαρ και αντιμετωπίζεται περισσότερο ως πάρτυ παρά ως αξιόπιστος, «σοβαρός» θεσμός, αν και δεν είναι λίγες οι φορές που ο νικητής μιας Χρυσής Σφαίρας κατέληξε να σηκώσει και τον θείο Όσκαρ.
