Ένας γάλλος πολίτης ο οποίος είχε απαχθεί στο Τσαντ τον Μάρτιο και είχε οδηγηθεί στην περιοχή Νταρφούρ του Σουδάν αφέθηκε ελεύθερος και βρίσκεται καθ΄οδόν προς την πρωτεύουσα Χαρτούμ, ανακοίνωσε η εθνική υπηρεσία ασφαλείας του Σουδάν.

Το Σουδάν συνεργαζόταν με τις αρχές του Τσαντ και της Γαλλίας επί εβδομάδες προκειμένου να εξασφαλίσει την απελευθέρωση του Γάλλου, το όνομα του οποίου δεν έχει γίνει γνωστό. Είχε απαχθεί νότια της Αμπέτσε, μιας περιοχής με ορυχεία που βρίσκεται περίπου 800 χλμ. ανατολικά της πρωτεύουσας του Τσαντ, Ντζαμένα, και 150 χλμ. από τα σύνορα με το Σουδάν.

Πριν από λίγο η γαλλική προεδρία επιβεβαίωσε την απελευθέρωση του γάλλου πολίτη.
