Με ποσοστό 74,3% επανεξελέγη σήμερα, Παρασκευή, ο Ζίγκμαρ Γκάμπριελ στην ηγεσία του Σοσιαλδημοκρατικού Κόμματος της Γερμανίας (SPD).

Ο κ. Γκάμπριελ ήταν ο μοναδικός υποψήφιος και έλαβε 456 θετικές ψήφους και 139 «όχι», ενώ κατεγράφησαν 19 αποχές. Στην αντίστοιχη ψηφοφορία πριν από δύο χρόνια είχε λάβει ποσοστό 83,6%.

Η διαδικασία της ψηφοφορίας επρόκειτο αρχικά να γίνει για πρώτη φορά ηλεκτρονικά, με τη χρήση τάμπλετ, ωστόσο έπειτα από την πρώτη αποτυχημένη προσπάθεια επελέγη ο «παραδοσιακός» τρόπος, με ψηφοδέλτια.
