H Κολομβία ανακοίνωσε το Σάββατο ότι έχει καταγράψει 20.297 κρούσματα του ιού Ζίκα στην χώρα, μεταξύ αυτών 2.116 έγκυες γυναίκες.

Ο Παγκόσμιος Οργανισμός Υγείας θα πραγματοποιήσει τη Δευτέρα μια έκτακτη συνεδρίαση με αντικείμενο τον ιό, που μεταδίδεται από το τσίμπημα κουνουπιού και εξαπλώνεται με «εκρηκτικό τρόπο» στην αμερικανική ήπειρο, όπου αναμένεται να καταγραφούν φέτος 3 έως 4 εκατομμύρια κρούσματα, εκ των οποίων τα 1,5 εκατομμύρια μόνο στη Βραζιλία, την χώρα που έχει πληγεί περισσότερο.
