Σεισμός μεγέθους 6,4 Ρίχτερ έλαβε χώρα στα ανοιχτά της Μιγιακετζίμα στην Οκινάβα, στα νότια της Ιαπωνίας, σύμφωνα με την Ιαπωνική Υπηρεσία Μετεωρολογίας.

Θεωρείται πως είχε εστιακό βάθος 10 χλμ. Δεν έγινε έκδοση προειδοποίησης για την πρόκληση τσουνάμι.

Οι υπηρεσίες έκτακτης ανάγκης, αλλά και τα τηλεοπτικά συνεργεία που φτάνουν στην περιοχή, δεν έχουν αναφέρει τραυματίες ή καταστροφές από το σεισμό αυτό.
