Τουλάχιστον 18 είναι οι νεκροί από ακραία καιρικά φαινόμενα που έπληξαν τις νότιες πολιτείες των ΗΠΑ, με τους αξιωματούχους στη Γεωργίας ν' ανακοινώνουν αύξηση του αριθμού των θυμάτων μετά τις καταιγίδες και τους ανεμοστρόβιλους που έπληξαν αρκετές πολιτείες.

Ο κυβερνήτης της Γεωργίας, Νέιθαν Ντάλ κήρυξε σε κατάσταση έκτακτης ανάγκης αρκετές κομητείες της πολιτείας στις κεντρικές και νότιες περιοχές, με την προειδοποίηση ότι τα ακραία καιρικά φαινόμενα μπορεί να κινηθούν βόρεια, προς την Ατλάντα.
