Σεισμός μεγέθους 6,1 βαθμών έπληξε σήμερα τη δυτική Αυτόνομη Περιοχή των Ουιγούρων του Σιντζιάνγκ, σύμφωνα με το Γεωλογικό Ινστιτούτο των ΗΠΑ. Δεν υπάρχουν άμεσες αναφορές για θύματα ή καταστροφές από το σεισμό αυτό.

Το επίκεντρo του σεισμού, έχει εντοπιστεί σε απόσταση 51 χλμ., νοτίως από την πόλη Σιχεζι, με το εστιακό βάθος να εντοπίζεται στα 55 χλμ.
