Το περιφερειακό Κοινοβούλιο της γαλλόφωνης Βαλονίας ψήφισε σήμερα υπέρ της συμφωνίας εμπορίου ΕΕ-Καναδά, λύνοντας το αδιέξοδο που είχε δημιουργηθεί μετά τις αντιδράσεις εναντίον της που κινδύνευαν να βυθίσουν τη συμφωνία στο σύνολό της.

Οι βουλευτές της Βαλονίας, που ήσαν σημαιοφόροι της αντιπολίτευσης στην Γενική Συμφωνία Οικονομικών κι Εμπορίου (CETA), υπερψήφισαν το νέο αναθεωρημένο κείμενο με 58 ψήφους υπέρ και πέντε κατά.

Στο σύνολό τους οι 28 κυβερνήσεις των χωρών μελών της ΕΕ υποστηρίζουν την υπογραφή της CETA, της οποίας οι υπέρμαχοι υποστηρίζουν ότι θα αυξήσει κατά 20% το εμπόριο, όμως η κεντρική κυβέρνηση του Βελγίου δεν είχε κατορθώσει έως σήμερα να δώσει την συγκατάθεσή της επειδή όφειλε να έχει εγκριθεί το κείμενο από τις ομόσπονδες περιφέρειες.
