Το αεροσκάφος που εκτελούσε πτήση της εταιρείας Malaysia Airlines από τη Μελβούρνη για την Κουάλα Λουμπούρ αναγκάστηκε να επιστρέψει στο αεροδρόμιο απ' όπου είχε απογειωθεί λίγα λεπτά νωρίτερα, εξαιτίας ενός απείθαρχου επιβάτη.

Όπως ανακοίνωσε η εταιρεία, το αεροσκάφος που εκτελούσε την πτήση MH128 προσγειώθηκε με ασφάλεια στο αεροδρόμιο της Μελβούρνης και οδηγήθηκε σε απομονωμένο σημείο όπου άνδρες της ασφάλειας συνέλαβαν τον επιβάτη.

Η πτήση MH128 επέστρεψε στη Μελβούρνη αφού ο κυβερνήτης ενημερώθηκε από ένα μέλος της καμπίνας ότι ένας επιβάτης προσπάθησε να μπει στο κόκπιτ.

Το αεροσκάφος είχε απογειωθεί από το αεροδρόμιο της Μελβούρνης στις 23.11 τοπική ώρα και επέστρεψε στις 23.41.
