Η πρωθυπουργός της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας ανακοίνωσε της διεξαγωγή πρόωρων εθνικών εκλογών για τις 8 Ιουνίου και κατά πολλούς αναλυτές ήταν μια πολιτική κίνηση που θα έπρεπε να είχε κάνει αφού οι δημοσκοπήσεις δείχνουν πως το κόμμα των Συντηρητικών του οποίου ηγείται, προηγείται κατά πολύ του Εργατικού. Και αυτή ίσως είναι η ευκαιρία της Τερέζα Μέι- που δεν είναι εκλεγμένη πρωθυπουργός-να πάρει νέα λαϊκή εντολή και να οδηγήσει παράλληλα σε μια ταπεινωτική ήττα τον Τζέρεμι Κόρμπιν και το κόμμα της αξιωματικής αντιπολίτευσης εξασφαλίζοντας ελευθερία κινήσεων στις επώδυνες διαπραγματεύσεις που φέρνει το Brexit.
Ακόμη όμως και εάν οι Τόρις προηγούνται το δημοσκοπήσεων αυτό δεν σημαίνει και πως η Μέι είναι και πολύ…αγαπητή ή πως η απόφαση της για πρόωρη προσφυγή στις κάλπες ικανοποιεί τους πολίτες. Σίγουρα τα μέσα κοινωνικής δικτύωσης δεν είναι βαρόμετρο αλλά μέσα σε λίγα μόλις λεπτά τα σχόλια, τα gifs και τα memes για την βρετανή πρωθυπουργό κατέκλυσαν το Twitter και φυσικά το hashtag #theresamay έγινε πρώτο μέσα σε λίγα λεπτά και πριν καν γίνουν οι ανακοινώσεις.
Τα περισσότερα σχόλια στόχευαν τη Μέι και ήταν…βιτριολικά αλλά δεν έλειψαν και τα σχόλια για το Εργατικό Κόμμα και τον Τζέρεμι Κόρμπιν.
