Σώοι εντοπίστηκαν από διερχόμενο πλοίο οι δύο πρόσφυγες που αγνοούνταν, έπειτα από την ανατροπή της λέμβου που τους μετέφερε ανατολικά της Λέσβου.

Η επιχείρηση εντοπισμού και διάσωσής τους ήταν σε εξέλιξη από το πρωί του Σαββάτου, με τη συμμετοχή πλωτού σκάφους του Λιμενικού, ενός ελικοπτέρου και ενός σκάφους της FRONTEX.

Το πρωί του Σαββάτου στο λιμάνι του Πειραιά έφτασαν δύο πλοία με συνολικά 2.682 πρόσφυγες.

Συγκεκριμένα το πλοίο Blue Star Patmos μετέφερε 1.990 πρόσφυγες από τη Λέσβο και το πλοίο «Νήσος Ρόδος» 692 πρόσφυγες από Χίο και Μυτιλήνη.
