Η ετήσια εκδήλωση, φέτος είχε θέμα «Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology» και όλοι περίμεναν το κόκκινο χαλί για να δουν με ποιον τρόπο είχαν συνδυάσει οι αγαπημένοι σταρ του Χόλιγουντ την τεχνολογία με τη μόδα.
Η αλήθεια είναι ότι στο φετινό κόκκινο χαλί έγιναν μερικές ενδιαφέρουσες επιλογές, όπως εκείνη της Taylor Swift, η οποία εμφανίστηκε φορώντας κάτι που έμοιαζε με διαστημική στολή. Η Alicia Vikander φορούσε κάτι που έμοιαζε με ρομπότ και η Lupita Nyong’o είχε εξωγήινα μαλλιά.
