Χρειάστηκε μονάχα ένα σαββατοκύριακο το 1953, για να δημιουργήσει ο Walt Disney και ο καλλιτέχνης Herb Ryman, αυτόν τον χάρτη από το πάρκο της Disneyland, προκειμένου να τον δείξουν σε επενδυτές.

I grew up watching the cartoons and films, worked at WDW during college and after in the theme park and publicity and it has given me lifelong friends around the world and opened the door to my professional pursuits. And that’s all due to one man who had an idea, Walt Disney. Currently at Van Eaton Galleries they are exhibiting Disney memorabilia that will be sold on auction tomorrow. This is the original presentation map of Disneyland created by Walt and artist Herb Ryman in 1953. Walt’s brother, Roy, used it for presentations when trying to get potential investors to help Walt build Disneyland. Όπως αναφέρει το Hollywood Reporter, ο μοναδικός αυτός χάρτης, που είναι φτιαγμένος στο χέρι από τον ίδιο τον ιδρυτή της Disneyland πουλήθηκε πριν από μερικές μέρες σε δημοπρασία που έγινε από τους σημειώνοντας ποσό- ρεκόρ, αφού η τελική τιμή ήταν 708.000 δολάρια.

Η δημοπρασία του χάρτη είναι μέρος μίας γενικότερης δημοπρασίας της Disney, αλλά το συγκεκριμένο κομμάτι είναι ένα από τα ακριβότερα της Disneyland που έχει πουληθεί ποτέ.
