Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine @bermuda had caves like this. My jaw dropped when we first walked in and then it completely hit the floor when I realized we could go for a swim. Talk about a once in a lifetime experience. #bermudadreaming This particular cave is not publicly accessible, but nearby Crystal Caves and Tom Moore’s are just as striking and open to everyone.

There are currently roofers working on my roof. There is a skylight above my shower. This morning, while singing “Hello” by Lionel Ritchie in the shower, I looked up and saw one of the workers looking down. Now I’m too embarrassed to go outside. It doesn’t feel right to make eye contact with a man after you accidentally ask “is it me your looking for?” while completely undressed. Oh, and here’s a shot of some surfers.

Though I agree with all those who say Karnak Temple is quite spectacular, my favorite of all the temples we’ve visited thus far, is the Temple of Hathor, at Denderah. Hathor was Goddess of joy, love, motherhood and childbirth; also, the wife of Horus. She’s been called both “Mistress of Heaven” and “Lady of Stars” and though her temple was once covered in black soot from years of being used as a shelter where people endlessly burned animal fat candles and cooked over open fires inside — now, it seems to gleam in the soft light that filters through the many columns. Like Karnak, they are tall and difficult to photograph. Unlike Karnak, they’re incredibly well preserved and very colorful (in comparison to other Egyptian sites) after a recent very successful cleaning. The tops of the columns feature a depiction of Hathor, beautiful even with her cow ears. On the back wall outside is a depiction of Cleopatra VI and her son Caesarion. Underneath the temple lies a crypt that made me feel like Indiana Jones when I had to crawl inside with such limited oxygen. But I didn’t want to leave! #AKegypt
